Picnic bus plunges in gorge in Watlab, driver critical, students safe
Srinagar: Driver of a bus carrying students was critically injured after he lost control of the vehicle and plunged in a gorge in Watlab area of Sopore in Baramulla district on Thursday.
The mishap took place at Sangri Top of Watlab and the bus was coming from Budgam to Baba-shukur-udin shrine.
As he dropped students he lost control of the vehicle and fell into deep gorge.
The driver has been identified as Shabir Ahamad(40), a resident of Budgam.
He was immediately rushed to nearby hospital for treatment and has been shifted to SKIMS Srinagar for advanced treatment.
While all the students in the bus are safe, the driver is said to be in critical conditions.
