Demands tunnel at Sadhna top

Karnah: AIP president, Er Rasheed has thanked people of Karnah valley for their “massive support to AIP in the recently concluded parliamentary elections” and had “chosen their fate with AIP in order to join a sincere and sustainable movement that can shape the dreams of masses in the entire state”.
Addressing public meetings at Tangdar, Jarda, Dildar, Tetwal, Seemari and other places on Monday, Rasheed said that people of Karnah had shown “the way on how the vote can be used as an agent of change”.
“Not only have people of Karnah rejected those forces who always encourage and create ethnic and regional divide in the society, but they have shown the way how to rise to the occasion and follow voice of conscience,” he said.
Rasheed cautioned government not to take people of far-flung areas including Karnah, Gurez and Uri forgranted and said that lack of communication and connectivity had made the lives of residents of border and far-flung areas “worse than hell”.
Rasheed also announced a 72-hour long sit-in outside civil secretariat from Monday against the failure of the government to provide tunnel at Sadhna Top and Gurez.
He said that he will have a peaceful sit-in starting from July 8 to draw attention of state and central governments against the “burning issue”.
Rasheed urged administration including employees working in government departments in Karnah valley to redress the grievances of people of border areas.
