Dilapidated Awantipora-Pampore road giving tough time to commuters
Awantipora: The dilapidated old highway from Awantipora to Lethpora and Galandar to Sempora is giving tough time to the commuters in the area.
Locals said that the dilapidated road had become nuisance for them locals as well as the thousands of people who travel along the road on a daily basis daily.
The big potholes and the overflowing drain water on the road often lead to traffic mess in the area, a driver said
He said that no attention was being provided towards the old highway after the new bypass was thrown open resulting into inconvenience to the commuters and passersby.
The frequent travelers on this road agitated at the authorities said due to the bad condition of the road they often get late to work.
They demanded immediate repair of the road at an earliest so that they can have a sigh of relief.
Executive Engineer Roads and Building Division Pulwama said that the said stretch was under Srinagar Division’s domain.
The road will be macadamized within 15 days, he informed.
