Kupwara: JKPM leader from Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, Feroz Wani has sought revocation of the ban order on the entry of trucks and Tippers in Kupwara town from 8 am upto 6 pm daily.
In a statement, Wani said the no entry order had badly hit livelihood of hundreds of truckers especially from Lolab area who have no other alternate route to travel in connection with their day to day business.
Wani urged the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara to revoke the no entry order for the trucks and tippers in the Kupwara town from 8am to 6 pm.
He said that the ban order had affected truckers of the Lolab area because they have no other alternative except to pass through the town where as heavy vehicles from all other areas have other alternate routes available to ferry and carry on their business.
He said if the order was not lifted, it would severely affect livelihood of the proprietors as well as drivers of trucks and tippers plying in between Lolab to Kupwara belt.
He said majority of truck and tipper owners had availed loans from banks and other financial institutions to purchase their vehicles and they would not be able to repay their loan instalments and interest money on due date, as the restrictions on ferrying their vehicles through Kupwara town would leave them idle.
“So it was necessity to revoke the impingement no entry order without further delay,” Wani said.
The JKPM leader from said that the working season in the valley was already limited due to its unfavourable and peculiar weather conditions.
“Moreover, in view of the prevailing unpredictable law and order situation, the administration should try to provide maximum opportunities of livelihood to the people of the valley especially associated with trade and business, instead of choking the available job avenues,” Wani asserted.
