Police arrest seven for illegal excavation in Budgam
Budgam: Police in central Kashmir’s Budgam district Saturday registered 5 FIRs against illegal excavators across the jurisdiction of Police Station Budgam.
Besides arresting 6 persons, 4 JCB machines used for excavation and 9 tippers involved in illegal transportation of clay have also been seized.
Police said it also arrested a notorious criminal Sajjad Joo, who was involved in illegal excavation of clay for the last several years.
“Six FIRs stand registered against him. He was produced before the competent court of law,” it added.
