‘The only agenda PDP and BJP had was to blind and humiliate people’

Srinagar: Jammu and National Conference on Sunday said the PDP had “lost the faith of people for all the times to come and the people of Kashmir in particular the people of south Kashmir have bade good bye to the deceitful and crafty politics of PDP”.
Addressing a series of public meets at Wachi, Shopian, NC’s Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani said that people of the state “have bade farewell to PDP for berating the mandate of people”.
“Our party has been maintaining that there was no agenda of alliance. It was only a pretense which both BJP and PDP used to hide their respective lust for power. However after the coalition government fell, BJP functionary’s statement affirmed our stand,” Wani said.
He said the NC had been maintaining that the “much touted AOA was just make-believe and fanciful thing that was deceitfully used by both the parties to conceal their opportunistic politics.”
“This also raises figure on the veracity of the PDP as a political entity. People are feeling cheated, exploited, and bartered. The only agenda the PDP and BJP had been to blind and humiliate people,” he said.
Wani said the “posterity will remember Muftis for unleashing CASOs, night crackdowns, blinding, maiming, nepotism, and cronyism. Future generations will never forgive Muftis for berating and belittling the mandate of people which they had conferred upon people in the last assembly elections.”
Flaying Mehbooba Mufti for “shedding crocodile tears on the miseries of people”, party’s central secretary Sakina Itoo said, “Had PDP president and the Ex-Chief minister shed tears when our youth were devoured upon in 2016, it would have had any impact. One may inquire from her as to where was her concern for people when the people of Kashmir were subjected to worst of human rights violations”.
“It was during her tenure that people were used as human shield; where her sympathy and empathy was for those who were blinded, bruised during her tenure. People are the good judge of character of PDP and its stint in power,” Sakina added.
She said the people who had voted for her and reposed their faith in her were “dejected by her changed outlook”.
“People still remember how sordidly she mocked the death and misery of hundreds of families who had to shoulder the coffins of their beloved, with her ‘Milk and Toffee remarks’. People remember how appallingly she had asserted that the guns of security forces aren’t for display but action,” Sakina alleged.
Mehboonba, she alleged, “shamelessly stuck to her chair when the youth who had voted for her were being fired upon”.
“She didn’t have the gumption to bid good bye to BJP when scores of our youth, and elderly were being blinded and maimed. On the contrary she barefacedly presided over the relentless miseries of people. How can people forget her treachery and political duplicity?” she asked.
“People remember how she failed to protect the sanctity of our flag, stand for the interests of Kashmir when in government with BJP? On the contrary, it was she who allowed the implementation of SARFAESI, GST and NFSA in J&K.”
Sakina said that National Conference was the “only party that boasts a panacea for the state’s problems”.
“Once in power we will make amends to the wrongs committed by the PDP-BJP combine. We will embalm the people who suffered at the hands of PDP-BJP. Besides that our leadership has already undertaken to do away with the anti youth job policy SR0-202, and Public safety act,” she said.
Among others south zone president Dr. Bashir Veeri, Showkat Hussain Ganaie, Muhammad Shafi, Sheikh Rafi, Shabir Kullay were also present on the occasion.
