Announces Rs 1.17 Crore for school

Sopore: Government Girls Higher Secondary, Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday celebrated the 102 years of its establishment and Advisor to governor, Khursheed Ahmad Ganai was the chief guest on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sopore, Ashiq Hussain Lily, Director School Education Kashmir, Mohammad Younis Malik, Chief Education Officer Baramulla, Mushtaq Ahmad and District Information Officer, Mudasir Rasool were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Ganai urged the students to work hard for achieving competitive excellence as there is no shortcut to success.
He urged them to focus on conceptual clearance and knowledge-based learning outcomes as these are the only educational tools vital for attaining excellence in diverse fields.
said that imparting qualitative education to the students is the only way out to enable them to compete on state, national and other levels. He asked the students to remain proactive and acquire knowledge of science, arts, information technology and other fields with utmost zeal and dedication. He further said that nations can’t progress unless its educational mechanism is strengthened at the grass root level.
Complimenting the school authorities for organizing the function, the Advisor said that the institute has established a glorious tradition in the educational field and achieved milestones in Women’s education.
Meanwhile, Advisor announced Rs 1.17 crore for the infrastructural development of the school, besides reiterating its commitment to develop infrastructure in other educational institutions of the district.
At the event, the prayer ceremony was followed by a cultural programme, which had song, dance and music to mark the celebration of 102 years of institute.
Principal of the institution, Suriya Jabeen presented a report on the school history. She said that a number of dignitaries of Kashmir had done their schooling from the institution.
The event was attended by various dignitaries across the apple town including President Industries Association, Javeed Ahmed Bhat, President Traders Federation, Hashmatullah Hashmi and Chairman Civil Society, Mohammad Akbar Ganai.
Meanwhile, people of the town congratulated the school and wished it a glorious future.
The school had made a precious contribution to the society, they said.
