Qazigund: Protests erupted after an army vehicle part of army convoy hit and injured a four year old kid in Vajru area of Qazigund area on Thursday morning.
The protesters blocked Srinagar-Jammu highway for hours and allowed traffic pass through the road only after police assured action against the erring army driver.
The protesters according to eyewitnesses stopped last couple of vehicles of army convoy while the erring driver managed to escape from the spot.
Witnesses identified the injured boy as Muzamil Bashir Wagay who according to them was shifted to hospital for treatment.
The locals alleged that it had “become a routine for army convoys to terrorise people”. “These army drivers drive with complete arrogance as they know they can’t be held responsible for killing any human being. Look at today’s incident. No action will be taken against the guilty driver,” said a elderly man. (CNS)
