Geelani barred from attending Urdu Book Fair function at KU
Srinagar: Government on Friday disallowed Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani from going to Kashmir University to participate in a Urdu Book Fair function.
The forces present outside Geelani’s residence didn’t allow him to move towards KU, sources told KNO.
Notably, Geelani is under house detention since long.
Geelani on Thursday had accepted the invitation of Kashmir University students for Urdu Book Fair programme.
“Urdu book fair has been organized in the Kashmir University and the students of KU have invited All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on 21 June 2019 at 11:00 Friday,” the statement issued to KNO had said.
