Baramulla: AIP President Er Rasheed has said that time was ripe to show NC, PDP and other traditional parties “their right place and make them to pay for their politics of exploitation”.
Addressing a day long convention of party workers at Dak-Bungalow Baramulla on Sunday, Rasheed said that NC leadership “cannot always befool Kashmiris, stab them, but still ask them for votes”.
He said that the NC’s slogan of autonomy was “outdated” and the party had been using it “to create confusion and weaken the real sentiments and aspirations of people of J&K”.
Hitting out at the two traditional mainstream parties, Rasheed said, “It is the Himalayan fact that most of the leaders of NC and PDP have earned fortunes from the miseries of masses and have created huge assets”.
He said that the two parties had “indulged in corruption and nepotism and have ruined the credibility of institutions”.
Rasheed also hit out at NC’s Omar Abdullah and said, “Before trying to raise emotions of Kashmiris against BJP, he should not forget that he was himself a minister in the BJP Government and is now keen to get few seats in the upcoming assembly elections”.
Rasheed further said, “One should not be surprised if like PDP, he (Omar) follows the ‘north pole and south pole doctrine’, as the party has a long history of justifying its surrenders and misdeeds including converting Muslim Conference into National Conference, ensuring unrealistic instrument of accession with New Delhi, burying plebiscite front, hugging those whom it called gutter worms, surrendering everything through Indra-Abdullah accord and targeting religious and nationalist forces in the entire state”.
Over PDP, Rasheed said, “Expecting anything good from PDP leadership is like expecting apples from poplar trees, as the party has taken birth from Congress, the mother of all evils, when it comes to Kashmir”.
The AIP chief alleged that the “only concern for NC and PDP is that how their leaders become chief ministers”.
“But for the common Kashmiris, the question is that they should get honorable, durable and acceptable resolution to Kashmir issue which has snatched not only their peace of mind but also precious lives in every hamlet”.
Rasheed further said that people of north Kashmir had shown in recent parliament elections “that nothing is impossible and Kashmiris and they have the guts and the courage to make a change that suits them”.
He also welcomed the decision by the government to bring J&K Bank under RTI Act and said that bringing transparency and accountability in the system should be always welcomed.
AIP leaders Ishtiyaq Qadri, Sheeban Ashai, Mir Khursheed, Muhammad Rafiq Bhat, Malik Tariq Rasheed and others also addressed the convention.
