Geelani condemns arrest of G A Gulzar
Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani has condemned the arrest of Hurriyat Chief Spokesman Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar from his residence by police on Saturday.
Terming Gulzar’s detention “unlawful and unjustified”, Geelani said in a statement that political space was being “denied by creating a situation of uncertainty and political turbulence in the state”.
“By pushing people to wall, authorities will achieve nothing. They should face the political leaders and workers on political turf,” he added.
