Family of youth alleges conspiracy Says
Poonch: The family of a person whose body was recovered Wednesday last from a field in Sainik Colony area in Poonch has alleged of a ‘conspiracy’ into the death of the 34-year-old man.
The body of one Amjid Ahmad Mir son of Sagheer Ahmad Mir a resident of Bhera Kund of tehsil Mendhar in Poonch was recovered from a field in Sainik Colony Jammu on June 12, while the family alleged that Amjid was ‘murdered’ on June 11.
“We recovered the body on June 12 while he was murdered on June 11, father of the deceased, Sagheer Ahmad Mir alleged while adding that the body was recovered from the fields’ belonging to a retired official of Police.”
Alleging conspiracy into the death of his son Sagheer Ahmad, who himself happens to be an Inspector (retd.) said that he has been “murdered by his in-laws allegedly in compliance with the personnel stationed at the local Police Post at Sainik Colony.”
“He was left unattended when we reached near the spot where the body was recovered but the local police didn’t allow us to venture into the fields. Had they allowed us he could’ve been saved,” he said.
“While conducting his last rites we noticed torture marks all over his body”, he further said.
Meanwhile, the family of the deceased has appealed DGP Kashmir to launch investigations into the death and to bring the culprits to justice. (GNS)
