Minor girl drowns in Anantnag
Anantnag: A four-year-old girl drowned in a river in Ugjan area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday afternoon, police sources said.
They said that Shameema (4) daughter of Shareef Ahmad of Ugjan, Dialgam had gone with her mother to fetch water from a nearby rivulet when she lost her balance and slipped into the river.
Witnesses said that some locals immediately rushed to the spot and tried to rescue the child.
Soon after the girl was recovered she was shifted to district Hospital Anantnag where doctors declared her as brought dead.
Meanwhile, police has registered a case and started investigations. (KNO)
