Pulwama: Authorities have failed to repair the dilapidated Chakura -Malangpora road in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district thus causing inconvenience to hundreds of commuters travelling on it on a daily basis.
Commuters complained that the road has developed potholes at several places making it difficult to travel on it.
Residents of Tokuna, Reshipora, Beighpora, Batpora, Khandypora, Renzipora, Nowgam, Panzgam and other adjoining villagers told Kashmir vision that the road was topped with gravel and sand by Road and Buildings (R&B) department in December last year.
“But it lasted only for few days and the road turned to the same condition it was before,” they lamented.
“We have approached the concerned authorities several times requesting them to initiate repairing of the road but to no avail,” said Sikander Ahmad , a resident of Panzgama village.
Speaking to ‘Kashmir Vision’, Executive Engineer Roads and Building Department Pulwama said he will send a team on Friday to the spot for estimate and the road will be repaired soon “on priority”.
