Three drug peddlers arrested in Shopian, contraband seized

Shopian: Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested three drug peddlers and seized contraband from their possession in Zainapora belt of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Police identified the arrested persons as Shazad Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohidin Dar, Abdul Rashid Dar son of Ghulam Qadir Dar and Younis Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Abdullah Dar-all residents of Village Wandina Melhoora in the district.
Apolice official said that the trio was arrested with 11.5kg Poppy Straw , 288 capsules of Spasmo-Proxyvon plus, 300 tablets of Alprasafe and 700gm of charas.
The trio, he said, was arrested by a team of police officers led by SDPO Zainapura Wajahat Hussain, SHO Zainapura, Sajjad Ahmed and SI Atal Sharma
The SSP added that the Further investigation is being conducted & more arrests are expected.He termed this catch as an important mile stone.
The SSP further added that drugs are the greatest threat to our society and police will fight it tooth & nail. But the most important role in that direction has to be played by parents and schools.
Moreover people from Zainpora area have hailed the action of Police & have thanked Shopian Police for its endeavour towards drug free society.
