Ten burglars arrested in Bandipora, stolen property recovered

Srinagar:Police Tuesday claimed to have busted a gang of 10 burglars from whose possession stolen property worth lakhs was recovered.
The accused were arrested in raids by the police on several suspected locations in the north Kashmir district, police said.
The gang was busted by a special team of police headed by SHO Pethkoot Police Station after complaints of thefts in the area.
In one such complaint, the complainant alleged that some thieves had stolen goods worth Rs 2 lakh from his house.’
“A similar complaint was lodged by a person stating that thieves have stolen cattle and about 20 cement bags from the premises of his house,” a police handout said.
After registering an FIR under relevant sections of law in Police Station Pethkoot, 10 persons were arrested from whose possession the police recovered stolen property worth Rs 2.5 lakh in two separate raids on suspected locations.
The police handout said that people of the area appreciated the prompt action of Bandipora Police in nabbing the accused persons and recovering the stolen property.
