Srinagar: After poll debacle, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief, Ghulam Ahmad Mir Monday said that “chaos among the party cadre regarding an alliance was among the reasons of the defeat in Jammu and Kashmir”.
Mir said that besides withdrawal of security from the party men, the “chaos regarding bonhomie with other party” was also among the reasons of their defeat in the recently concluded parliamentary polls.
He said due to withdrawal of security “deprived the party leaders to move out properly to reach out to the people for campaigning”.
JKPCC chief further stated that there was ‘Dangal’ in Ladakh by BJP following which the Congress approached the Election Commission.
“But no action was taken in this regard,” Mir alleged.
Mir said that all the aspects were discussed in the meeting that was held on Sunday to get immediate feedback from the ground about the recently concluded polls.
“The flaws and other things were also discussed in the meeting”.
He added that expanded meeting in this regard will be held on June 09.
About reports regarding resentment from the leaders for not being invited in the meeting, the State Congress president said that the meeting was being held between the top party leaders regarding six parliamentary constituencies.
“It was not important to invite the district presidents for the meeting,” he said.
Mir however said that “indiscipline in the party won’t be tolerated”, adding that “strict action will be taken against the party leader who will create indiscipline”.
