Shab–e–Qadr, Eid–ul–Fitr arrangements finalized in Anantnag

ANANTNAG: District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir, Saturday chaired a meeting of officers to ensure that proper arrangements are well in place for the celebrations of Shab –e– Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr.
The DDC emphasized upon the concerned officers to ensure regular market checking for which market checking squads have been constituted to avoid profiteering, adulteration & hoarding. He also directed to ensure that there is no encroachment done by vendors, street hawkers, and to do a quality check of edible items.
He directed concerned to ensure uninterrupted power supply, drinking water, and availability of tanker service for Khiram and Kabamarg shrines and at Eid-Gah-Hanfia Janglatmandi, Eid-Gah-Ahl-e-Hadees Ashajipora, Daroo-ul-Aloom Satul-Awliya Bagh-e-Nowgam & other Masjid Shariefs of the town.
Threadbare discussions were held on the availability of essential commodities including rice, LPG and kerosene, rates of eatables including the mutton and chicken, transport arrangements, traffic management, sanitation of Ziyarat Shareefs, Masjeed Shariefs, Eid Gahs and streets, ambulance services, uninterrupted power and water supply and proper functioning of street lights was discussed threadbare in the meeting.
AD FCS&CA apprised the meeting that against the monthly allocation of 46,000 quintals of rice under NFSA, 30,000 quintals have been lifted for the month of June 2019 and 312 lakh litres of Kerosene oil has been lifted and distributed among the consumers till date.
The Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Anantnag informed the meeting that 2.5 lakh poultry birds are required for the consumers on both days. Besides six locations have been identified for sale centres which include District Veterinary Hospital Anantnag, Bijbehara Town, Doru Town, Kabamarg, Khiram & Mattan. The poultry officer Mattan will also provide poultry birds of 2.5 kg weight on these days.
The DDC directed SRTC to run of SRTC buses for Khirm Dargah and Kabamarg for late hours to facilitate the devotees.
Meanwhile, the DDC said that the district administration has already notified the rates of various eatables and entrusted upon the SDMs and Tehsildars to ensure the strict compliance of the approved rates.
Chief Medical Officer was directed to keep ambulance services in a state of readiness and ensure the duty of doctors and paramedical staff and availability of medicines.
AD Fisheries was also directed to establish sales outlets at designated spots on these days.
The Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services was asked to ensure availability of fire tenders at Khiram Dargah, Kabamarg & Ziyarat-e-Reshi Sahib Anantnag.
Executive Officers of concerned municipalities were instructed to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation around the centrally located masjids, Eid Gahs Ziyarat Shareefs and streets.
The meeting was attended by ACR Anantnag, SDMs of Doru, Kokernag, Bijbehara, SE PDD & PHE, Exen PDD and PHE, CMO, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, AD FCS&CA, ARTO, all the Executive Officers of Municipal Committees/Councils, AD Fisheries, DySP Traffic, representatives of Awqaf Committee Khirm, Awqaf Committee Ziyarat-e-Baba Hyder Reshi Anantnag, Awqaf Committee Ahal-e-Hadith & Darool-ul-Uloom Sautul Awliya Bagh-e-Nowgam Anantnag.
