Sopore parts shut to mourn killing of local militants

Sopore: Parts of Zaingeer belt of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district observed a complete shutdown on Friday to mourn the killings of two local militants in a gunfight with forces in the area a day before.
The two local militants-Asif Ahmad War son of Ghulam Nabi War of Aftab Mohalla Warpora Sopore and Naseer Ahmad Mir alias Tawseef son of Muhammad Yousuf of Shalpora Brath Kalan Sopore were killed on Thursday at Dangarpora Zaingeer area of Sopore.
Both of them were affiliated with the militant outfit LeT.
Witnesses said that all the shops and other business establishments remained shut while traffic also was off the roads in parts of Zaingeer.
Main town Sopore however witnessed normal activity.
Reports said that people from the Sopore and its adjacent areas are visiting the residences of both the slain militants at Warpora and Brath Kalan to offer condolences with the family.
Both Slain militants were laid to rest on Thursday evening amid pro-freedom, pro-Azadi and Anti-India slogans at their Respective native villages.
Eyewitnesses said that thousands of people including women participated in funeral prayers of the two slain militants at their respective native villages.
