DGP attends Iftar Party at District Jail Jammu
Srinagar: An Iftar party was organized at District Jail Ambphalla Jammu which was attended by Director General of Police Prisons J&K, Dilbag Singh.
Besides, Randeep Kumar, SSP CID SB Jammu, Dinesh Sharma, Senior Superintendent Central Jail Kotbhalwal, S A Beig, Jail Superintendent, Akhtar Hussain, Accounts Officer, Dr B L Gigoo and other medical officers of District Jail Jammu were present.
Besides around 600 odd inmates, a large gathering of CRPF and Prison Personnel participated in the event.
The DGP wished all the prisoners blessings of the fasting month and hoped for their better tomorrow as responsible and respectable citizens of the country.
He said that a number of steps were being taken for introducing new demand-based technical training programmes in the jails as a part of reformation policy and to release the convicts who fall under purview of premature release on the eve of Independence day.
The DGP also announced ‘Bada Khanna’ for the prisoners on the day.
The prisoners expressed gratitude to the visiting dignitaries especially the DGP for organising the get-together in the holy month of Ramzan.
