12th bi-annual pass out students fear loss of academic year

Urge KU, Cluster University authorities to allow them admission

Srinagar: The students who recently passed the class 12th bi-annual examination are in a quandary and urged Kashmir University and Cluster University among others to save their precious one year by allowing them administration in various streams of Under Graduate course.
A delegation of students who passed 10+2 exams alleged that they visited colleges for admissions but were denied the same. “We are told that admission forms cannot be accepted as o now because there are no directions from Kashmir University in this regard,” they said.
They also said that the authorities had promised them admission soon after clearing the 12th standard bi-annual exams but nothing has been done so far.
“Soon after the results, we sought admission forms but the college authorities denied us the same due to which we fear the loss of precious one year,” they told GNS.
Students who had also sought admission at Government College for Women, M A Road here, said that they too were denied the admission.
“We were told that Cluster University under which the College falls has not taken any decision and we cannot admit you,” they said.
The students demanded the immediate intervention of higher authorities into the matter to save their precious one year.
“We request the authorities to take a sympathetic view and allow us admission in various undergraduate courses otherwise our career would be ruined and we may not be able to continue studies,” they said. (GNS)
