Says Sajad has left behind two minor daughters, wife

Shopian: The youth who was killed during clashes in Pinjura area of Shopian on Wednesday evening has left behind two minor daughters.
Sajad Ahmad Parray son of Ali Mohammed Parray resident of Baderhama village in Shopian district received bullet injury in his abdomen during clashes in Pinjura Shopian and was referred to Srinagar from district hospital Shopian however, he succumbed at Pulwama while on way to Srinagar.
Sajad according to his cousin Umar was a wood cutter by profession and on Wednesday was working in Pinjura area however, as a cordon was laid in the area clashes erupted after which forces fired on the protestors.
“As clashes erupted in the area we called Sajad and asked him to come home however, he said he was quite far away from the spot where clashes have erupted,” Umar said.
“In the evening when Sajad was on way to home, he was shot at even though he was not part of any protests,” rued Umar.
“He has never taken part in protests and on Wednesday he wasn’t part of any protest,” he said, adding that how would have he pelted stones on forces as one hand is affected by a fractured bone since the last three years.
Belonging to a very poor family Sajad is survived by wife and two minor daughters Sabreena (3) and Aayat (9) months old.
His family demanded that it must be investigated under which circumstances Sajad was killed and also demanded compensation saying that his wife has no source of income.
Meanwhile, thousands of people participated in his funeral prayers in his native village and he was laid to rest after multiple rounds of funeral prayers amid massive pro freedom sloganeering.
