DGP sanctions scholarships among wards of police personnel

SRINAGAR: Director General of Police J&K, Dilbag Singh Saturday sanctioned meritorious scholarship in favour of five wards of police personnel and SPOs as part of an endeavor to promote merit among them.
While the scholarship to three personnel’s wards has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund, scholarship in favour of two wards of SPOs has been sanctioned out of Police Pariwar Fund.
The DGP sanctioned a scholarship of Rs 12,000 each in favour of wards of two policemen for securing above 80% marks in MBA and M Sc examinations and Rs 8500 in favour of one ward of police personnel for securing above 80% marks in B Sc examinations during the academic session 2018-19.
Besides, Rs 10,000 has been sanctioned in favour of two wards of SPOs each for securing above 80% marks in the annual examination of class 10th during the academic session 2018-2019.
Police Headquarters has been sanctioning meritorious scholarship under different heads in favour of police wards to inculcate competitiveness among them.
