SRINAGAR: Aspirants of Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) 2018 examinations from Kashmir are up in arms against the recruitment board for failing to set up centres for Junior Engineer (JE) exam in the valley.
The aspirants complained that their exam centers for Junior Engineers (JE’s) have been designated outside the Kashmir including Jammu even as they had shown preference for valley centers.
They said it will be difficult for them to travel outside the valley for the exams given the tense situation in valley coupled with the financial constraints.
Wasim, an aspirant who hails from North Kashmir’s Kupwara district said that his exam centre had been designated in Jammu and he was not in a position to travel there under the present circumstances.
“It is sheer injustice for the aspirants of Kashmir. How can they designate the centre outside the valley when we have preferred to appear for the exams here?” he asked.
Zubair Ahmad, another aspirant said that he could not afford the expenses for travelling outside the valley for exams.
“If the exam centre is not changed, I have no option but to skip the exam,” Ahmad said.
