Four injured in afternoon clashes in Sopore

Sopore: At least four youth were injured-one among them critically after clashes against militant commander, Zakir Musa’s killing broke out Friday afternoon in main town Sopore soon after congregation prayers at main chowk Sopore.
Reports said that scores of youth assembled outside Markazi Jamia Masjid Sopore and started protest over the killing of the AGH commander Musa.
The protesters while shouting pro-freedom, pro-Pakistani and anti-government forces slogans tried to march towards main chowk Sopore, but were stopped by forces already deployed there.
In the meantime, some youths started pelting stones upon forces, which were retaliated back with scores of tear gas shells, as per reports.
They said that forces also used and pellet guns to disperse them.
In the ensuing clashes, four youth sustained injuries as per reports.
Among them one youth identified as Irfan Ahmad was critically injured and was rushed to SDH Sopore where doctors referred him to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for advanced treatment.
Clashes in the area were going on till Friday evening.
Meanwhile, a complete shutdown was witnessed in twin towns of Baramulla and Sopore of Baramulla district with all shops, petrol pumps and other business establishments completely shut, while as traffic was off the roads in both the towns.
Due to shutdown and heavy rains people of the two towns mostly preferred to stay inside their homes.
