Dozens of cattle perish as lightning strikes Poonch village

Poonch: Nearly 100 cattle were killed after lightning struck amid heavy rain at Loran area of Mandi in Poonch district of Jammu division on Friday evening.
Reports said that the nomads Mohammad Qasim and Mohammad Junaid while grazing sheep and goats at Loran village when suddenly the lightning hit the area during heavy downpour.
Reports said that 94 animals died on the spot due to the strike.
SHO Loran, Tilak Raj said that 94 animals died due to lightning amid inclement weather. (GNS)
