Five shops gutted in Uri fire incident

Baramulla: At least five shops were gutted in a fire incident that broke out in the wee hours on Thursday at Machikrand Market of Uri in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Reports said that the fire broke out in one of the shops and engulfed at least four shops nearby.
Merchandise worth worth lakhs of rupees were turned into ashes as per reports.
As the news about the fire spread, fire tenders and police, assisted by locals rushed to the spot and managed to douse the flames and put fire under control before it could cause further damage.
No loss of life or injury was reported in the mishap.
While the cause of fire could not be ascertained immediately, police has taken cognizance of the fire mishap and started investigation
