Srinagar: Train service remained suspended for the second day on Saturday for security reasons in the south Kashmir as gunfight raged in Puwlama and a brief shoot out took place in Anantnag districts.

“However, train service was resumed on Srinagar-Badgam-Baramulla track in north Kashmir after remaining suspended on Friday,” official sources said.

They said a fresh advisory was received from police early this morning that train service will remain suspended on Saturday in south Kashmir, where two encounters between militants and security forces are going on in Pulwama and Anantnag. So far two militants were killed in Pulwama encounter, they said.

“No train will chug on Badgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region,” they said.
