Ishtiyak had gone to bring fodder for animals, says family

Shopian: The civilian who was killed during an encounter along with the two militants in Handew area of Shopian had gone to the orchard to bring fodder for animals, his family said Friday.
Ishtiyak Ahmad Bhat @Zubair son of Dawood Bhat resident of Handew Shopian was killed along with two militants on Thursday.
His father Dawood Ahmad Bhat said that Ishtiyak had gone to bring fodder for animals however, an encounter started near the orchard and he was killed along with the two militants.
He was innocent and was not associated with militants as police claimed, he said
Locals said he was arrested several times by forces and was released just three weeks back.
He is survived by his wife, brother and sister besides his parents.
Police had questioned his presence near the encounter site on Thursday. Even a police statement claimed that three militants died in the encounter at Handew.
Police in statement had also said that there was already a case (FIR 252/2018) under 13, 39 Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and 506 RPC and 7/27 Arms Act Registered against him.
