Youth spreading ‘hatred’ on social media held
Srinagar: Police on Thursday arrested a youth for circulating a video allegedly promoting hatred against a particular sect and promoting feelings of animosity and hatred between different sections of the society.
Legal proceedings were initiated after proper registration of case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Safakadal.
Police tracked the accused and identified him as Feroz Ahmed Nath son of Abdul Rehman Nath, a resident of Palpora. Nath has been taken into custody.
Civil society has expressed their satisfaction over the prompt police action.
Police has appealed people not to pay heed to the rumours and fake news and not to fall prey to the propaganda of such elements inimical to peace.
