Sheikh Imran joining PC: Deal brokered in Governor’s house says Congress
Srinagar: State Congress on Friday accused Governor Satya Pal Malik of forcing Dy Mayor SMC to join Sajad Lone lead Peoples Conference by using his issues with J&K Bank.
“We will withdraw support from Sheikh Imran and would field another candidate for the Deputy Mayor’s post,” Congress state president GA Mir said.
According to Mir, the deal of Imran joining PC was done in Governor’s house.
“He was taken to Governor House and warned of consequences owing to his alleged J&K bank issue and other problems following which he was forced to join the People’s Conference,” he said.
Mir said that governor wants to disintegrate the J&K by such tactics and he is completing the unfinished agenda of the BJP in the state.
“That is why the assembly elections are not being held here,” Mir said.
