Sumbal rape incident: Spontaneous shutdown, protests in various parts
Srinagar, May 13: A spontaneous shutdown is being observed in several parts of Valley in wake of the shutdown call announced by Itehadul Muslimeen against the rape of a 3-year old girl in Sumbal.
Reports said that shops and business establishments are closed in various parts of Valley while as traffic is off roads as well.
Meanwhile, protests also erupted in Saida Kadal area of Srinagar city and other parts of Valley.
Protestors are demanding action against the accused in rape incident who is already in Police custody.
Locals from old parts of Srinagar said that heavy deployment of forces has been made in old city parts to thwart any law and order situation. (KNO)
Elsewhere, a spontaneous shutdown is being observed in north Kashmir’s Sopore also.
Reports said that shops and business establishments are closed in Sopore and outskirts while as traffic ply thin on roads as well.
