Clashes in Nowhatta Srinagar, five injured
Srinagar :Massive clashes broke out between youth and government forces outside historic Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta area of old city following Friday prayers.
Youth engaged with forces in pitched battles in the narrow alleys of Sheh e Khaas.
Forces used tear gas and pellet gun to disperse the protesting youth.
Eyewitness alleged that security forces fired pellets at the protesting people near one of the entry gates of Jama masjid , triggering chaos around the area.
“Five persons received pellets and have been evacuated to medical facility,” they said.
