Two Pharmacists shot at in Shopian, critical

Srinagar: Suspected militants Wednesday shot at and injured two civilians in Shopian district of south Kashmir, police said.
The ultras shot at two civilians at Zainapora in Shopian, resulting in injuries to them, a police official said.
The duo is running chemist shops outside the sub district hospital Zainapora where they were shot at and injured critically, the official said.
Eyewitnesses said that three masked gunmen barged into the ‘Al Madina’ and ‘Zulal’ Medical shops at Zainapora and abducted the two pharmacists.
“After half an hour of their abduction, some gunshots were heard in nearby orchards and we rushed to the spot and found both lying in a pool of blood,” they said.
Both were shifted to sub district hospital Zainapora, from where they were referred to District Hospital Anantnag and later they were referred to SKIMS Srinagar, said one of their relative.
The duo were identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat and Irfan Ahmad Lone both residents of Zainapora and according to doctors both have bullet injury in their thighs however, they were shifted to hospital after both had lost lot of blood.
Before being fired upon the gunmen also beat them ruthlessly, said a relative of one of the pharmacists.
Muzzafar Ahmad according to locals was associated with PDP and a former Panch however, he has resigned from panch as well as PDP some three years back, said a local wishing not to be identified.
A police officer while confirming the incident said local militants are involved in the incident.
