Students need to be encouraged for being future entrepreneurs: VC-SKUAST (K)

SKUAST-K organizes ‘Biz-Fest 2019’
Srinagar: Students from the School of Agriculture Economics and Horticulture Business Management (SKAUST-K) organized a day long ‘Biz Fest 2019’ at the campus in Shalimar on Thursday.
The event saw participation from hundreds of students who were involved in the event so as to get hands on experience on entrepreneurship and marketing skills.
The organizers said that the event was organized to give students a firsthand experience of entrepreneurship and marketing. The event was inaugurated by vice chancellor of SKAUST-K, Professor Nazeer Ahmed in presence of senior faculty members of various departments.
The festival which attracted lot of attention from the student’s community and the teaching faculty was jointly organized by Dean Student’s welfare and School of Agricultural Economics & Horti-Business Management.
The main attractions of the event were the beautifully decorated twenty odd stalls in which displayed delicacies, handicrafts, accessories and various other joy filled events.
Vice chancellor while dwelling upon the importance of entrepreneurship and marketing skills in students said that such events provide a good exposure to students in the field of entrepreneurship.
“The students carry a lot of responsibility as the fields they have opted for are the main stay of the state’s economy. We are trying our best to get the students abreast with all the latest trends and requirements of modern day businesses. Events like this are very important as they provide a firsthand experience to students and encourage them to start their own ventures when they complete their degrees,” Nazeer Ahmed said.
Notably around, 600 students participated in the event including scores of students across many universities of the state.
The student’s participation and the enthusiasm they exhibited was also welcomed by th Vice Chancellor and senior faculty members.
Later the VC presented certificates and mementos to the students who participated in the event.
