Harmukh club organizes trek to Mount Mahadev

Srinagar: The Harmukh Adventurers team organized a trek to Mount Mahadev in which 45 members participated. Out of 45, 43 members were able to summit the peak. It is a record set by the club that so many members were able to summit the peak, a statement issued by the club said.
Manzoor Mir, one of the founding members of Harmukh Adventurers club said “It was a really challenging task for us not in terms of summit but in terms of handling the crowd. As it was a huge crowd with 45 trekkers involved.”
Among the trekkers a girl, identified as Muskan also successfully achieved the feat.
“She is the only girl to have achieved this feat,” the statement said.
Mount Mahadev lies in Zabarwan range and is Srinagar’s highest peak with an altitude of 3966 mtrs. The team along with 45 members started from Dara at 6:45 am and reached Lidwas valley at around 11 am (the base of Mount Mahadev)and had their lunch. Thereafter, the team started their trek towards Mount Mahadev. The team reached the peak at around 3 pm.
The team was lead by Manzoor Mir, Amir Latief, Danish Dhaar and Abid Kharadi, the statement added.
