DC Baramulla holds Public Grievance Camp

Assures timely redressal of civic issues

Sopore: District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo Tuesday chaired a public grievance camp at Dak Bungalow, Sopore with an aim to evoke the first hand appraisal of public grievances
At the camp, which witnessed the participation of various delegations, deputations and other representatives of the area, the DC listened to the public grievances.
Among the deputations that appraised their grievances included Traders Federation Sopore, Coordination Committee Sopore, Industrial Estate Sopore, Fruit Growers and Dealers Association, Sopore and Bus and Sumo Owners Unions.
The representatives of these associations put forth their demands and grievances pertaining to different sectors.
They demanded the establishment of a proper garbage dumping site in main town Sopore so that the proper solid waste management is ensured.
The demand for an adequate deployment of traffic police personnel for the smooth flow of transport in the town was alos raised.
Other demands that were raised during the camp included deployment of manpower in Sub- District Hospital Sopore, macadamization of roads, uninterrupted water and power supply especially during the upcoming holy month of Ramadhan and other demands of public importance.
The DDC gave a patient hearing to the deputations and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into. He also passed on spot directions to the concerned officers for redressal of various grievances and directed the officers to maintain close liaison with the local population so that their grievances are redressed at the earliest.
He also directed the officers to conduct field visits regularly so as to remain apprised about the problems faced by the people and the same can be projected before the administration for quick redressal.
ADC Sopore, SSP Sopore, Engineers of various line departments, district and sectoral officers and various other concerned were present on the occasion.
