Police file charge sheet in last year’s Batmaloo militant attack
Srinagar: Police Monday filed a charge sheet in the last year’s militant attack at Batmaloo in which a CRPF personnel was killed.
The initial FIR was filed at Police Station Shaheedganj.
The FIR pertains to the militant attack on July 24 militant attack on the CRPF and Police personnel near Fire Services crossing resulting intinjuries to CRPF Personnel.
One CRPF personnel Shanker Lal Brala of A/23 Bn CRPF had been killed in the attack
A police statement said that the charge sheet was filed before the competent Court under relevant sections of law by Srinagar Police “after obtaining necessary Government sanction for prosecution” and “after conclusion of the investigation”.
The chargesheet has been filed against nine accused including Mohammed Shafeeq Bhat and Waseem Khan-both from Diyarwani Batamaloo, Bilal Ahmad Bhat of Kund Qazigund, Shazia Yaqoob alias Pari of Kamad Anantnag and Tehseen Ahmed Batloo alias Junaid of Zainder Mohalla Habakadal for their role in “hatching criminal conspiracy for the act, harbouring militants and lending support to the proscribed organisations”.
