Forces launch search operation in Shopian orchards
Shopian, April 27: Government forces on Saturday morning launched a search operation in orchards of Heff Shirmal belt of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Official sources said that on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the orchards, a joint team of forces including 44 RR, 178 Bn CRPF and SoG Shopian launched search and destroy operation in the area.
Local sources said that huge contingents of forces have been deployed in the area and search operation is going on.
Locals said that during wee hours they heard the sound of dozens of forces vehicles approaching the orchards in the area.
They said the Heff-Shirmal Vuder (Karewa land) is a huge area surrounded by orchards, open fields, and dense woods, which the forces suspect to be providing shelter to the hiding militants.(KNO)
