Police cracks Harwan burglary case, accused arrested

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday claimed to have cracked a burglary case in Harwan area of Srinagar and recovered the stolen items. The accused has been arrested as well, police spokesman said here.
He said that on April 23 they had received a complaint from Showkat Ahmad Jan R/o Aarbal Shalimar that on 13 February 2019 he had locked his house and left for Delhi along with the family.
“Today on 23 April, he came back with the family and found his house trespassed with burglary of cash and jewelry which was kept in a locker,” police said.
During the investigation one person working as a servant in the house was questioned.
“After sustained questioning, the suspect confessed the crime and all the stolen jewelry, two golden sets with three pairs of golden earrings, and a cash of ?175000 and 2900 USD were recovered on the confession of the accused. The accused person was arrested in the instant case,” police said.
