NIA summons Geelani’s grandson for questioning
Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has summoned Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani’s grandson, Anees-ul-Islam Shah for questioning.
Geelani’s grandson- Anees-ul-Islam Shah was in news after he courted a controversy after securing a single-post government job in the aftermath of 2016 agitation for which rules were allegedly bent.
Anees is a son of incarcerated Hurriyat (G) leader Altaf Shah (Fantoosh).
Sources said that National Investigating Agency (NIA) that is probing alleged funding case has directed Anees to appear for questioning at NIA headquarters in New Delhi on April 29.
Pertinently, Anees’s father Altaf Shah was arrested in the year 2017 by the NIA along with several other Hurriyat leaders in an alleged funding case.
