Srinagar: Despite the passage of around three months, the JK Board of School Education (BOSE) is yet to declare the re-evaluation result of the class 11th and 12th students.
A group of students, who were accompanied by their parents, said most of them have obtained more than 90 percent marks in other subjects except the subject they have been asked to reappear for.
“We approached BOSE office number of times but they told us our re-evaluation result will be declared after two months, ironically they failed do so despite the passage of more than three months,” the aggrieved students said.
They said the inordinate delay is adding to lot of anxiety among the candidates.
“The delay is taking toll on our mental health as it has subjected us to mental depression,” the students said.
The students said they also obtained Xerox’s copies of the answer sheets and were shocked to see that despite attempting all the questions, the examiner has allegedly committed blunders by not doing justice with his job.
“We have been subject to mental stress and target of mental depression,” the students added.
An official in JKBOSE said the re-evaluation takes a long time to process the answer scripts. He said they first erase the precious marks obtained by the students and later send the answer script for the re-evaluation.
“And the re-evaluation is also a two phase process. First the paper is evaluated by one subject expert which is later send to another expert to examine the evaluation. That is why it takes a lot of time to complete,” he said.
Chairperson JKBOSE, Veena Pandita said the re-evaluation result of class 12th subjects will be declared within a weeks’ time while as answer scripts of 11th class students were under process.
“Class 11th students will have to wait for some time. They need to be patient as their result was declared after class 10th and 12th,” she said.
