Death of Pattan resident: Family stages protest, asks police to identify culprits

Srinagar: The family and relatives of Pattan resident who was found dead recently, Tuesday took to streets and demanded identification of the culprits.
The body of the deceased identified as Jan Muhammad, was found after more than 14 days since he went missing. His body was found from a local stream.
Jan was a driver by profession.
The family alleged that police had failed to identify the culprits so far.
“We demand that those involved in the act be identified and be dealt with strictly,” a relative said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, Abdul Qayoom told reporters that they were “busy in election process” due to which they couldn’t investigate the case properly.
He however, added several arrests including that of “one prime suspect” were made in this regard.
“It will take a week’s time to identify the involved persons in the act,” he added. (KNS)
