DAK expresses grief over Dr Abdul Ahad’s demise

Srinagar, April 15 (GNS): A condolence meeting of Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) was held today at Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar to mourn the sad demise of Dr Abdul Ahad former Professor and head of the department of Anatomy.
Dr Ahad breathed his last today at Noida after a prolonged illness. He was 74.
Expressing profound grief and sorrow over the death, DAK President Dr Nisar ul Hassan prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
A medical luminary, Dr Ahad passed his MBBS from GMC Srinagar and after completing his post graduation joined as a faculty member and became Professor and head of the department of anatomy at GMC.
Calling the death as an irreparable loss, DAK President said it is a great loss to the medical fraternity and his death has created an unbridgeable void in the field of medicine.
“Born in a village in Ganderbal area of north Kashmir, Dr Ahad was a man of impeccable integrity,” he said.
“He was a great teacher and was very popular among his students. He was instrumental in shaping up the department of Anatomy at GMC Srinagar. His contributions in the department will be remembered for a long time to come,” Dr Nisar stated.
Terming the deceased as a noble soul, Dr Nisar said we have lost a gem of a person in the demise of Dr Ahad.
“He always stood a helping hand to the needy and poor. He will be missed for his goodness in life,” said Dr Nisar.
