Government attaches Syed Ali Geelani’s New Delhi flat
Srinagar: Government of India has ordered attachment of Syed Ali Geelani’s Malviya Nagar, New Delhi, flat, claiming that he failed to clear the taxes to the Income Tax department.
The order was passed by the IT department on March 29 that restrained Geelani from transferring, charging mentioned property.
The order reads that the move has been taken as has failed to ‘pay the sum of 3,62, 62, 160 for the AY 1996-97 to 2001-02’.
“It is ordered that your are hereby, prohibited and restrained , until the further order of the undersigned, from transferring or charging the mentioned property,” reads the order.
