Police targets drug dealings in Anantnag
Srinagar: Police in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district have arrested a person during a checkpoint at National Highway Jablepora crossing following an action against those involved in drug dealings in the area, a police spokesman said.
He said that a person identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Rather son of Ghulam Ahmad Rather resident of Haripari Awantipora arrested for drug supply offences has been taken to Police Station Bijbehara where he remains in custody.
Officers at the checkpoint have seized about 1728 capsules of Spasmoproxyvan and Wagon-R car bearing registration number JK06-7276.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigations have been initiated, the spokesman added.
