Govt bans non-biodegradable disposable items in JK
Srinagar: Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday banned use of various non-biodegradable materials including disposable plates, cups, and bowls among other items in the state.
According to an order issued by the government the use of disposable plates, cups, and bowls, tumblers, spoons, forks besides knives.
The order said that the ban shall be deemed to have come in force after one month from the date of its publication in the government gazette.
“The govt of J&K after consultation with the prescribed authority (J&K State Pollution Control Board) herby bans completely, the following articles made of non biodegradable material listed in the schedule I of the said act, within the territorial jurisdiction of the state of J&K,” the order read.
