Drug peddler arrested in Sopore
Srinagar: Police on Monday arrested a drug peddler in north Kashmir’s Sopore area, a police spokesman said.
He said that during routine frisking at a checkpoint at Krankshivan Sopore a person identified as Aamir Akbar Mir son of Mohammad Akbar Mir resident of Mumkak Sopore was arrested for drug offences as some contraband substances were recovered from him.
Officers at the checkpoint have seized 50 bottles of Maxcoff, Codeine P Coff-T and Codeine Apdyl-T from his possession, the spokesman added.
He said that an FIR No 18/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Tarzoo.
The spokesman said that people are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, the spokesman added.
