Brief exchange of fire between militants, forces in Kalantara Baramulla, area cordoned off
Baramulla: Government forces and militants exchanged gunfire in Kalantara area of Kandi in Baramulla district on Wednesday.
“The militants and forces exchanged gunfire for a brief time and there was a lull afterwards,” sources in Police said. .
According to officials forces have sealed the area are conducting searches in the area to trace out the militants.
They said that the operation is being jointly conducted by J&K Police, 29RR of Army.
SSP Baramulla Abdul Qayoom told GNS that some gunshots were reported in the area.
The area is under cordon and searches are under way despite the Inclement weather, SSP said. (GNS)
