Srinagar: Students of Kashmir University on Tuesday protested against the alleged custodial killing of a Jamat e Islami associated youth.

According to eyewitnesses students marched through out the campus raising slogans against the police and NIA, accusing them of ‘killing a scholar in cold blood’.

Slogans reverberated throughout the campus as students left their classes and rallied in the campus.

The students also protested against NIA’s ‘harassment of Pro Freedom Leadership’ and other leaders in the valley.

They demanded immediate revocation of ban on Jamat e Islami.

“The ban on Jamat e Islami is unacceptable, it is attack on religion,” they said.

They said the ‘killing of youth associated with JEI in custody should be probed and perpetrators be brought to book’.
